Production Accountant: Manage the financial and accounting affairs associated with the company’s film and television production projects. Work with the Production Controller, Production Manager, producers, vendors, accountants, and other staff to develop budgets and cash flow projections for new production projects. Ensure production schedules align with budgeted costs, establish the start and finish dates of production staff, and post labor with projected costs. Input budgets into production accounting software and post invoices and e-check requests. Prepare cost reports for all open shows and project future revenues and expenditures using statistical tools such as correlation and regression analysis. Prepare reports to compare budgeted costs to actual costs, track deviations from the budget, and make midcourse corrections as necessary. Conduct reviews and reconciliations of production balance sheets, cost reports, income statements, financial reports, financial analyses, billing, accounts payable, invoicing, payments and receivables, collections, and the handling of monetary items. Conduct audits of ledgers and balance sheets alongside credit card statements and bank statements for accuracy. Prepare documentation evaluating current procedures including payroll and purchase order logs. Analyze, improve, and document accounting process flows and controls under GAAP procedures.
Requirements: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration with coursework in Accounting and 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related accounting or finance position. It requires skills and knowledge in Quickbooks, EP Smart Accounting, EP Classic Vista, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). It involves little travel – 24% of work time several days but less than 60 days per year.
